This paper presents a Microgrid system and an interactive monitoring interface that can display useful power information across the microgrid. The system adopts LabVIEW software to design the interactive interface and obtains power data from a microgrid model developed in a Matlab/Simulink environment. The monitoring interface can provide the real, reactive and apparent power values throughout the transmission line and also across each of the components. Apart from displaying the power of the overall system, it displays power information for each element individually. In addition to basic voltage and current profile, the interface is also able to present useful features like the phasors and frequencies of the components involved. In addition to reading data from the model, the user can input various changes to the system and observe its effect on the grid model. Such an interface would be useful to an end user such as a microgrid operator to understand the power flow and operations within the microgrid. It will also provide uselful for testing a microgrid model and furthermore students learning about the operation of microgrids can observe the interaction between the components involved.
