Abstract

The Silk Road, one of the oldest and biggest trade routes of history, is a road extending from China to Europe. On the map it appears like a band, and it has witnessed many great wars and rivalries throughout history. The military and political events that took place along the silk road had direct effects on commerce and economy. To many merchants, wandering armies, and adventurers of ancient civilizations, the Silk Road served as an important communicative link between cultures and economies.
