Mobile ad hoc networks (MANET) have a network structure which is temporarily created and dynamically changing without any access point. Many routing protocols are proposed and implemented for MANET. The most used of these protocols are DSDV-Destination Sequenced Distance Vector, WRP-Wireless Routing Protocol, TORA-Temporarly Ordered Routing Algorithm, DSR-Dynamic Source Routing, AODV-Ad hoc On-demand Distance Vector. The fundamental aim of routing protocols is providing accurate and effective communication between nodes in network. In this paper, routing protocols in MANET are explained in general and comparative performance analysis is presented on passing quickly into communication, continuity of communication and security of communication in DSDV and DSR routing protocols with the aid of ns2 2.27 program.
