Fungal endocarditis is a relatively rare condition with particular difficulties in diagnosis and treatment. These difficulties lead to higher rates of mortality and morbidity. We report the successful treatment of a patient with rheumatic mitral valve who had fungal endocarditis due to Cushing syndrome caused by iatrogenic corticosteroid supplement. © 2011 Japanese College of Cardiology.
