In this study, a new polymeric microsphere was synthesized from the reaction of polymer-bound tris(2-aminoethyl)amine, phthalaldehyde and cobalt(II acetate and was characterized by some spectral methods (elemental analysis, FT-IR, GPC, SEM/EDX, TG/DTA, magnetic sensitivity). The antibacterial and antifungal properties of the polymeric microsphere were investigated by welldiffusion method against some selected pathogenic strains as a potential antimicrobial agent.
