Hybridization of solar panels with thermoelectric generator (PV/TEG) is a subject of actuality; this article proposed a configuration combining these two sources for the production of electricity from solar radiation and lost heat in order to have optimal performance. Since the hybrid PV/TEG system has two input sources, and then a double-input boost converter topology was used to provide the combined power to the DC load. A same type of MPPT based on sliding mode (SM) algorithm has been applied to the two parts of the hybrid system. According to the thermal and electrical characteristics of the system, the dynamic model was developed using Matlab/Simulink environment. Simulation results under dynamic disruptions of solar radiation and temperature difference have shown that the hybrid system effectively manages charge and source changes, reaching one of the smart grid goals.
