Özet

In this, an ITS model that is determining the student's knowledge by using Computer Adaptive Test (CAT) was recommended. This model has been developed as a web-based prototype system by using C# programming language, and software development programs such as Ajax and Jquery in ASP. net context. In the prototype ITS, topic and page definitions has been made and an item pool of 70 questions that is related with this topic and pages. Afterwards tests were made on the ITS. The results of these tests indicate that CAT method determines the student's level of skill according to accuracy of his/her answers and customizes by asking questions suited to his/her level of skill. Furthermore, ITS directs the student by determining the topics and pages in that the student is inadequate accurately according to CAT results. Besides, skill of level score that is calculated in the system is being notified as a lingual statement of 7 categories (Definitely Know (DK), May Know (MK), Most Probably Doesn't Know (MPDK) etc.) in fuzzy sets.
