Abstract

Tombstones, constitutes an important part of cultural assets. As their format, appearance and decorative features they are evaluated in Turkish Plastic Arts by reflecting the national folklore with their inscriptions like identities of those who died, their families, occupations, titles, used names, nicknames, causes of death, diseases or wishes from others.
