Linear Switched Reluctance Motor (LSRM) has double sided twin translators and a set of stator poles without a yoke placed between the two translators. This LSRM design has the advantages of a high propulsion force, balanced axial forces, a lower cost and a reduced vehicle weight. Twin translators are the moving parts and have 12 salient poles and 4 coils per phase. Stator poles are sequence placed linear stators and magnetic coupling is provided by 8 stator poles in a duty cycle. The proposed LSRM is designed, simulated and 3D magnetic FEA analyzed.
