Seven quinolizidine alkaloids were isolated from the roots, stems, leaves, flowers, pods and seeds of Gonocytisus pterocladus and identified using thin-layer chromatography (TLC), melting points and spectroscopic methods (IR, H-1 NMR and MS) as lupanine, rhombifoline, anagyrine, N-methylcytisine, cytisine, N-formylcytisine and 13-alpha-cis-cinnamoyloxylupanine.
