Abstract

The effect of the low-molecular chitosan on the solubility and dissolution characteristics of spironolactone has been studied. Kneaded mixtures of spironolactone with low-molecular chitosan were prepared and their in vitro dissolution behaviours were examined. The interaction of spironolactone with low-molecular chitosan both in aqueous solution and in the solid state was examined by performing solubility analysis, powder X-ray diffractometry and differential scanning calorimetry measurements.
