Özet

In this study, a boost power factor correction (PFC) converter with a new approach of using input voltage in obtaining the current reference to produce switches gate signal is described. In this approach a sinusoidal wave is generated by determining the zero crossing of the input voltage. The amplitude and the frequency of this signal are equal to the corresponding those of the input voltage. This signal is used in control of the PFC converter. The performance of the system is analyzed considering the worst cases of input voltage frequency, amplitude and load variation. The hysterisis control mode for continuous conduction mode (CCM) operation is considered in switching control. It is because this is very simple and allows low-distorted input currents and almost unity power factor. Moreover, the ground connected switch simplifies the driver circuit. The Matlab/Simulink results of the method approached in this study comply with IEC and IEEE standards (EN 61000-3-2, EN 61000-3-3, and EN 50160, IEEE 519-1992 standards).
