Abstract

Today, energy needs is increasing with the rapid rise in world population and industrialization. The energy needs are mainly met by fossil energy sources. In recent years with the diminishing of fossil energy sources, the use of renewable energy sources has become very important for Turkey and other countries in terms of meeting energy needs. The selection of the energy sources is a multi criteria group decision making problem since alternatives are evaluated by more than one decision makers based on the criteria. In this study, the evaluation of appropriate renewable energy sources for Turkey considering technical, economic, environmental and social factors was performed by using Intuitionistic Fuzzy TOPSIS Method.
