Abstract

In this study, a circuit which determines the congestion of the filter by means of two pressure sensors controlled with a microcontroller (PIC) is designed. Beside these, the effects of air filter surface area on filter exit pressure, the air flow of the engine, volumetric efficiency and turbo pressure are investigated and the results of experiment are given with graphics. In this experience, it is seemed that; air consumption became less when closed surface area increased each engine speed. At 4000 min(-1) engine speed, yellow light in indicator of apparatus turns on when closed surface area of filter is %40 also the red light turns on when closed surface area of filter is %70. According to obtained output; it is seemed that when the stopping up of air filter increased, the air consumption, manifold pressure, out pressure of turbo compressor and volumetric efficiency increased.
