THE USE OF TRUSS SYSTEMS IN UNIVERSITY BUILDINGS: CASE OF ABANT İZZET BAYSAL UNIVERSITY

Özet

In universities, where a large number of people live together, steel truss systems are often used to passlarge spans. In this study, Abant İzzet Baysal University in Bolu was examined in terms of steel trusssystem usage. The buildings of the university were evaluated from the point of view of the type oftruss system selected and the building form. It has been determined that these systems are used forgathering purposes, social and sports facilities. The most preferred truss system for these buildings isthe "Warren Type"which is lighter and cheaper than other ones.
