Özet

The new understanding of poverty has brought with it new strategies to the problem. Promoting neo-liberal policies have led to an increase in poverty in slum areas such as Ankara, Hidirliktepe gecekondu areas. The transformation process of poverty which has shifted from rotation poverty to permanent poverty that has been observed during the last four decades. Neo-liberalism accelerated poverty that has gained importance with its increasing permanent characteristics for gecekondu's households. The process of poverty in rotation has ended and permanent poverty has settled instead. (C) 2013 The Authors. Published by Elsevier Ltd.
