Abstract

In this study, effects of mechanical vibration on the microstructure and mechanical properties of the Ductile Iron (DI) were investigated. Castings were made in a conventional green sand mold. In this study ferritic ductile iron (GGG 40) material is used. Results of the study showed that changes on microstructure and mechanical properties of the ductile iron materials occurred with vibration. Looking at the results, mechanical properties of ductile iron are developed depending on the reduction in grain and graphite nodule size.
