© 2021 IEEE.In recent years, technology has witnessed a rapid development, that has led to the connection of more and more devices to the Internet, that has led to consuming the IPv4 address. IETF developed the IPv6 as a long-term solution. However, due to different IPv4 and IPv6's header structure, IETF developed some transition mechanisms to allow both IPv4 and IPv6 to coexist for a while before IPv6 take over. This study aims to choose the optimal transition mechanism which can be applied at YPTC by simulating some selected transition mechanisms (Dual Stack, NAT6-4, Manual Tunneling, 6to4 and ISATAP) with GNS3 Emulator and then evaluate them with network performance metrics (Delay, Throughput and Latency) by using Wireshark tool.
