ABSTRACT
R&D is one of the most important activities required for innovation in the world. In the first quarter of the
current century, there are intense and well-fictionalized research and development studies behind the rapidly
advancing technology, product development and innovative approaches. In parallel with these, the application
areas of boron minerals and products used in a wide and various fields are increasing day by day. Since boron is
used more or less in more than 250 areas, it is known as the “Salt of the Industry” and offers a wide range of uses
in the sector. Boron is frequently used in chemistry, materials, automotive, construction, nuclear energy, defense
industry, cleaning and detergent, glass, ceramics, health, agriculture, aerospace and aircraft, military vehicles,
fuels, electronics and communications, polymeric materials, nanotechnologies and metallurgy and many
chemicals and products are still developed. The World Academy publishes approximately 7,000 articles and
13,000 patents on boron every year and 30% of these studies are also encountered as boron materials. This is an
indication that more boron-containing products and materials will be encountered in the upcoming period
