Özet

Allium scabriflorum Boiss., A. vuralii Kit Tan, A. goekyigitii Ekim, H. Duman and Guner (Sect. Allium) and A. karacae M. Koyuncu (Sect. Scorodon C. Koch) were compared morphologically and karyologically. The chromosome number of all these species was found to be 2n=16. All species investigated have nucleolar chromosomes of the "Scorodoprasum-type" and "Sativum-type". This is a typical character of Sect. Allium. The results showed that Allium karacae, formerly included in Sect. Scorodon, should be transferred to Sect. Allium. It has a peculiar type of nucleolar chromosomes and morphological characteristics (except simple filaments) which are normally found in Sect. Allium.
