An Investigation of the Relationship between Digital Game Addiction Motivation and Psychological Resilience in Preschool Children

Özet
In the current study, it is aimed to investigate the relationship between digital game addiction and levels of motivation and psychological resilience in preschool children. For this reason, Correlational Survey Model was used in the study. The study group was made up of children at the age of 48-72 months attending nursing schools and kindergartens of state primary schools acting under the Ministry of Education in the city centre of Kars during the fall semester of 2023-2024 academic year. "Motivation Scale for Preschool Children" (DMQ18) to assess the motivation levels of children, "The Scale of Social, Emotional, Well-being and Psychological Resilience for Preschool Children" (PERIK) to assess their well-being levels and "The Scale of Computer Game Addiction" to assess digital game addictions of children, of which necessary consents were taken, were used as the data collection tools. At the end of the study, a significant negative relationship was found between the digital game addictions and their levels of motivation and psychological resilience.
