Abstract

In this study, a progressive damage model was developed to determine the failure strength of laminated composite plates with high accuracy. Progressive damage model was prepared to be applicable in finite element analyses. Using this model in finite element analyses, failure strengths of composite plates with a centered hole and loaded in plane were determined. Results of the analyses were compared with the experimental studies available in literature and an excellent agreement was found between the results of the analyses and experimental data.
