We present the morphologies of male and female genitalia of Cryptocephalus speciescollected from Turkey. The genus Cryptocephalus is represented by 73 species in Turkey,36 of which (approximately 49.3%) are in our collection. To date, there has been no studyin Turkey in which the morphology of the male genitalia (aedeagus) and female genitalia(spermatheca) of the subfamily Cryptocephalinae have been studied together. Therefore, this study aims to evaluate the male and female genital morphology ofselected species of the genus Cryptocephalus Geoffroy within the nominate subgenusCryptocephalus. The observed morphological differences may indicate that the nominatesubgenus is polyphyletic. These findings suggest that further taxonomic studies areneeded to determine whether some species should be assigned to other existingsubgenera or whether the establishment of a new subgenus is warranted. Therefore, the aim of this study is to examine the male and female genitalia by SEM to elucidate theultrastructural properties that cannot be seen under a stereo microscope and to distin-guish the male and female genital organs that will be used in the subdivision of thenominate subgenus Cryptocephalus
