Özet

Object permanence is a crucial developmental skill in terms of cognitive development and environmental awareness, particularly for students with severe and multiple disabilities (SMD). This systematic review aims to examine studies focusing on object permanence in students with these disabilities, identifying effective intervention methods and factors influencing the acquisition of this skill. Inclusion criteria for the literature review will be as follows: studies must be published in the Scopus, WoS, ERIC or Google Scholar databases, appear in peer-reviewed journals, include keywords related to object permanence and severe or multiple disabilities in the title, abstract, or keywords, and primarily aim to assess or support object permanence. Given the limited number of studies available, there will be no publication year restriction. Through a systematic examination of the literature, this review aims to establish a framework of effective strategies that enhance meaningful interactions with their surroundings for these students.
