Studies about the air oxidation of aqueous sulphide solutions in packed columns are described. Several factors affecting the process are studied. After reaching to steady state in various conditions, the sulphide concentrations of samples collected from the column outlet are spectrophotometrically determined and the oxidation yields are calculated by using these values. It is observed that the oxidation yield is increased with decreasing concentration and the presence of catalyst.
