The Industrial and Management Systems Engineering (IMSE) programme at Kuwait University has been accredited by ABET since 2001. This article describes the assessment of student outcomes of the programme. A framework model is developed where the assessment process and tools are shown to drive improvement in student outcomes. Student outcomes describe what students are expected to know and be able to do by the time of graduation in terms of knowledge, skills and behaviours. Four different tools, both direct and indirect, are used to assess student outcomes. The results from assessment indicate that the target levels are attained for each of the eleven student outcomes.
