A survey to determine the locus of control of the students of the school of physical education and sports

Özet

The aim of this survey is to determine locus of control of the students studying in physical education and sport teacher department, sport management department and trainer education department of schools of physical education and sports. Students of school of physical education and sports form the universe of the study. Sample of the study is consisted of 322 students participating as volunteers and chosen by random method. A questionnaire to determine demographic information for students and "Locus of Control Scale" are used in the survey. One Way ANOVA (one-way analysis of variance) and T-Test are used in solution and interpretation of data. Evaluation of the data and calculated values found in SPSS (Statistical package of social sciences) package program is used in evaluation of the data and calculation of values. As a result of survey, 62, 1% of students are male, and 37, 9% of students are female. 41, 2% of them are 2nd year student and 4, 6% of them are 4th year student. According to the sex and department variables, any difference in locus of control of students is determined. According to department variable, it is seen that personal control subscales points of meaningful than trainer education department students. On the contrary, the impossibility of trying and not just the world in the belief subscales of students studying in trainer education department is more meaningful than these of physical education and sport teacher department. Finally it is determined that, while students studying in physical education and sport teacher department have inner control focussed control; students studying in trainer education department have outer control focussed control.
