Shiban Khan, who established the state of the Shibanis by taking under rule cities, such as Khorezm, Khorasan, Samarkand, Belkh and Hisar, was an Uzbek khan who lived between 1451 and 1510. There are examples of works both in verse and in prose given the name of Shibani-name, which tell the life and the struggles of Shiban Khan, who spent his life on the battlefields. The Shibani-name in prose is anonymous. Whereas, the Shibani-name in verse written in the masnavi verse form was written by Muhammed Salih, who was a member of the Timurid dynasty. This work was published by A. Vambery and P. M. Melioranski abroad, whereas, in Turkey it was published by Yildiz Kocasavas. It was thought that the only copy of the work, which tells chronologically the life and the wars fought by Shiban Khan between 1499 and 1506, was the copy in the National Library of Austria. However, we accessed another new copy of the work in Hungary. This copy consisting of the first 96 leaves from 190 leaves is completely different from the copy in Austria and was written with a different meter. Many different place names and names of individuals are encountered in this copy. In this study, the newly found Budapest copy of the Shibani-name will be presented.
