Abstract

In this study, the purification of the waste water obtained from the cotton textile industry was performed by the electrocoagulation (EC) method. To increase the efficiency of the treatment, the simultaneous control of temperature, conductivity and pH is performed using fuzzy control method. Before being passed to the control operation, Design Expert program with the effects on the textile industry waste water electrocoagulation performing optimization experiments were investigated and discussed whether it is necessary to control experiments. Following these studies have been conducted control experiments. In control experiments, MATLAB/Simulink has been used. The removal efficiencies of chemical oxygen demand (COD), color, turbidity and oil and grease (O&G) were found as 76.2%, 88.9%, 91.6% and 74.2%, respectively. Consequently, the EC is in the process of waste water treatment in the textile industry is an effective method and fuzzy control method with simultaneous control of temperature-conductivity-pH has been shown to increase the effectiveness of the method also being used.
