Özet
In this work, the self-healing behavior of Cosine-Gaussian (CG) beams generated by a spatial light modulator (SLM) is investigated using a combination of numerical simulations and experimental measurements. Circular and rectangular opaque obstacles with different sizes are introduced into the beam path, and the reconstruction process is analyzed at various propagation distances. Beam propagation is modeled using the angular spectrum method, while the degree of self-healing is quantified through an image-correlation metric between the reconstructed and unobstructed beam profiles. Both numerical and experimental results demonstrate that CG beams can recover their characteristic cosine-modulated intensity profile after partial obstruction. The self-healing degree (SHD) is strongly influenced by obstacle geometry and size, with circular obstacles producing higher self-healing performance than rectangular ones of comparable dimensions. Increasing obstacle size leads to a noticeable reduction in reconstruction quality due to the larger loss of beam information and enhanced diffraction effects. The good agreement observed between simulations and experiments confirms the validity of the proposed model. These results provide further insight into self-healing mechanisms in finite-energy structured beams and highlight the potential of CG beams for optical communication, imaging, and beam-delivery applications.
