Özet

Many definitions have been made for the term 'Nusayri' based on different points of view. In this study tackling the conceptual frameworks concerning Nusayrism an attempt has been made to explicate these frameworks. After explaining their social and juristic status in the period of Ottoman State, the approach has been discussed taken by the state towards this community in the early years of the Turkish Republic. This approach has been put forward in view of both the academic studies conducted in the early years of the Republic and the reports which have been prepared by the states. It is seen that the Turkish state has evaluated Nusayris as one of the elements forming Turkish nation and from this perspective it has tried to develop policy towards this community.
