'Social media' and 'online socialization' concepts have become one of the issues elaborated and discussed by the sociologists. The social networking websites such as Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, Instagram and Myspace are used for different purposes. In terms of the number of users, Facebook is the most widely used social networking website. Facebook was started to be used by the users to find their classmates, then it has become a habit today. It is expected that such widely used social networking websites are influencial on the socialization of the youth. In our study, the relation between Facebook usage and socialization has been discussed over 195 students' reasons of Facebook usage and the activities of students on Facebook, the students study in Gazi University, Ankara University and Hacettepe University. The results of the study reveal that students use Facebook intensively, they share their personal information on their Facebook accounts, they use 'like' and 'share' buttons more frequently, and they care about using their Facebook accounts actively.
