Özet

This study aims to propose optimized spatial layouts for hospital parking lots that increase visual accessibility by examining the impact of structural elements. Hospitals are critical areas where users encounter high levels of stress and health problems. Therefore, the design of support areas such as parking lots should be clear and understandable, especially in terms of wayfinding and spatial perception. In a comprehensive literature review conducted to examine the impact of structural design on accessibility in hospital parking lots, the most prominent structural elements, columns and retaining walls, were focused on. The Space Syntax method was applied to three different hospital parking lot plans using DepthMapX software. Visibility analyses were conducted on the current state and proposed plan improvements for each hospital, evaluating the impact of column and retaining wall placement on visual accessibility. The results showed that the arrangement of the structural system directly affects visual accessibility in parking lots. This study highlights the potential of architectural design to produce innovative and adaptable spatial solutions and emphasizes that structural arrangement plays an important role in improving visual accessibility and user experience.
