Özet

The aim of this study is to investigate the edge wear of tool electrodes under different machining conditions in EDM die sinking. In the experiments, 2080 die steel specimens are machined by using 18 mm diameter cylindrical copper tool electrodes in EDM. The edge radii of the tool wear profiles are found by using the scan images and the variations of the inner and outer radii with the machining parameters are investigated. The edge profiles obtained are modelled by using the exponential and power functions.
