Abstract

In addition to their effect on social and cultural aspects of the society, technological advancement is one of the most important contributors to the economic growth of a country. Transnational technological interaction and exchanges constitute the most significant part of the national income for countries that are advanced in the field of technology. Most prevalent strategy used by countries to increase development of advanced technology is to support technoparks. In this study, some Data Envelopment Analysis models that have been developed to rank firms and identify the most efficient unit has been analyzed and performance of companies that are operating within the scope of METU Tecnopark has been examined with these models. While examining the performance of companies, number of employees and R&D expenses was used as input parameters; number of projects, number of intellectual property rights, R&D income, number of collaborations, company score and number of projects that are funded was used as output parameters.
