Abstract

A new species belonging to the genus Sabulina (named S. nerimanae) is described based on both morphological and molecular data. Field surveys were carried out based on the localities annotated on some samples of Sabulina deposited at the herbarium ISTO which revealed a morphology not currently known in the genus. The new species is here described (including micromorphological seed characters) and illustrated, and compared with the morphologically similar S. gracilis. Distribution, habitat, and conservation status are also given.
