It has been reported that Lilium species, that take place with their beautiful flowers among the geophytes which are the bulbous, rhizomous, or tuberous plants and exported as ornamental plants, are used for antimicrobial, antitussive, diuretic, calculolitic, emanogogue and expectorant purposes in folk medicine1-6. Besides, Jatropham, isolated as a major alkaloid from many Lilium species, has antitumoral activity7-10. In this review, the general information will be given about the chemical constituents isolated from Lilium species.
