Özet

In this study, a single-layer Epsilon-Near-Zero (ENZ) metamaterial (MTM) superstrate is designed and systematically optimized to enhance the electromagnetic radiation performance of a 10 GHz quarter-wave microstrip patch antenna (MPA). A 7×7 unit cell array is developed, and both the geometrical parameters and the antenna-superstrate spacing are optimized through full wave simulations. Simulation results indicate a realized gain enhancement of 7.34 dB compared to the reference antenna while maintaining the resonance frequency. These results demonstrate the potential of the proposed single-layer ENZ superstrate configuration for high gain antenna applications, such as X band radar and satellite communication systems, with stable gain performance over the 9-11 GHz frequency range. The antenna performance exhibits high gain, low profile, low cost, easy integration, and optimal matching characteristics.
