Özet

In this article, the public implementations, reports, publications, and discussions on the villages in the early years of Turkish Republic and their reflections on Turkish sociology are debated. The demands and decisions titled "Economic Principles of the Peasant Group" declared in 1923 Izmir Economic Congress and the decisions of village law numbered 442 issued in 1924 have created important consequences in terms of peasantism and the villages in Turkey. The activities and publications of peasantism branches of People's Houses, Teacher Training implementations and Village Institutes made a progress on the issues of peasantism, rural development, primary education and agriculture.
