In this work, an idea which can be used for minimisation of sideband level (SBL) of a time-modulated array (TMA) is presented. The idea is based on splitting pulses while the total switch-on durations remain constant which provides an additional degree of freedom in design and it is shown that lower SBL can be achieved under static fundamental radiation. Also it is shown with an example that the general opinion that maximum level of sideband radiation occurs in first sideband is not always true.
