Pollution and wastage caused due to ineffective traffic management is leading to mobility chaos and the pandemic had shown a glimpse of healthy mobility environment to be set as a goal. As world is move towards a digitalized world, it is a necessity to integrate autonomous and sustainable technology in different sectors to attain sustainable and ecofriendly environment. Smart city is a concept that leads to the same direction yet have not been effective due to the gaps between different urban infrastructures. This paper explores the positive effects of integrating such digitalized and autonomous infrastructure into mobility for effective traffic management. Digitally connected vehicles with Intelligent Traffic System (ITS) serves as a potential solution to traffic management. Connected vehicles along with a smart environment helps in sharing live traffic information between commuters. Intelligent Traffic System comprises of multiple factors that leads to an effective traffic management, some of the main applications of ITS are also being discussed in this paper.
