Özet

One of the issues defining the performance of guided munition which has the capability of hitting predefined target points at high accuracy levels is the width of the angular working ranges of aerodynamic control surfaces that are usually called “fins”. Rotational ranges of the fins determined as a result of the relevant studies conducted by the aerodynamics and flight mechanics disciplines as per munition operational concept gains importance in the sense of converting the commands generated by the autopilot into physical motion. In this study, the performance characteristics of a laser-guided short-range missile fired from certain aerial platforms against moving surface targets are evaluated for different values of the angular span of the fins. Consequently, it is observed that the enlargement of the angular movement range results in the decrement in the final miss distance from the target while it causes the lateral acceleration demand of the missile to grow.
