Abstract
In this work, the Bit Error Rate performances of Grouped Frequency Division Multiple Access (GFDMA) and Single-Carrier Frequency Division Multiple Access (SC-FDMA) techniques, which use a null sub-carriers based Carrier Frequency Offset (CFO) synchronization algorithm are compared according to various parameters. GFDMA is a new emerging technique that uses an iterative structure to update estimate values and reduce errors iteration by iteration. On the other hand, GFDMA is vulnerable to CFO like SC-FDMA. This paper proposes a null sub-carrier based CFO synchronization method suitable for uplink GFDMA and SC-FDMA techniques, utilizing sub-band based sub-carrier mapping schemes.
