The microstructural and mechanical properties of E2954 super duplex stainless steel weld metal were investigated in this study. The welding method applied in this study is shielded metal arc welding (SMAW). The mechanical properties of the weld were evaluated by hardness, tensile, and impact tests together with microstructural characterization. Austenite and ferrite phases were found in balance in the weld zone microstructure. The microstructure and mechanical results showed that the tensile strength and yield strength of the welds were found appropriate and also approximate to bulk UNS S32750 grade super duplex stainless steel which is equivalent to E2594 filler metal chemical composition. The impact toughness results and lateral expansion calculations depicted that weld metal is ductile.
