This article was aimed to implement model predictive control (MPC) based on maximum power point tracking (MPPT) for a PV system using a fours-witch buck-boost converter. The perturb and observe (P&O) method was chosen as the MPPT technique, with the current derived from this algorithm serving as a reference for the MPC controller. The four-switch buck-boost converter was designed for PV systems to provide the power to the load under varying irradiance conditions. In line with these objectives, simulations were conducted in the MATLAB/Simulink, and the results were demonstrated.
