Özet

Objectives: The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of different production techniques on the optical properties of the zirconia (Zr)-reinforced lithium silicate ceramics. Methods: 30 disc-shaped (12 mm in diameter and 1.2 mm in thickness) specimens were prepared from A2 high translucent Zr-reinforced lithium silicate glass ceramic. Three experimental groups were generated according to the production technique: milling (VS), heat-pressing (Amb), and tempering after heat-pressing (Amb-Temp) (n=10). The specimens were subjected to 10000 cycles of thermocycling (5°C to 55 °C). TP (Translucency Parameter), OP (Opalescence Parameter), and CR (Contrast Ratio) were calculated before and after thermocycling, and the color change values (ΔEab) were calculated after thermocycling. The OP, TP, CR, and ΔEab data were analyzed using the repeated measures of ANOVA and One-way ANOVA. The results for P<.05 were considered significant. Results: The repeated measures of ANOVA showed an interaction between the production technique and aging factors TP (P=.0001), OP (P=.0001), and CR data (P=.019). Thermocycling significantly affected the TP and OP values of the tested materials, with varying effects depending on the production technique. For the VS group, thermocycling increased the TP and OP, and thermocycling decreased the TP and OP for the Amb and AmbTemp groups. VS showed the highest CR values, while Amb showed the lowest before and after thermocycling. According to One-way ANOVA results, the production technique did not significantly affect the color change values values (ΔEab) (P=.218, P>.05). The color change value was highest for AmbTemp (2.29±0.9), followed by VS (1.74 ±1.3) and Amb (1.47±0.9). Conclusion: The production technique of the ZLS ceramics and thermocycling affected the optical properties (TP, OP, and CR) of the materials. All the tested groups had perceivable color changes; however, the color change values were within the clinically acceptable limits (ΔEab <2.7).
