Small and medium size firms which has a large place in Turkish economy, and its assistance to production and human resource useage can be defined by the; adaptibility to sudden changing market conditions, having a flexable and dynamic ability. To identify the problems about the furniture producing firms in Istanbul, their current status and to reconstruct in a increasing competitive situation, a questionary has been made by the means of face to face interview and inquary. According to this study's results the less of educated labor with a percentage of 35.5%, with a percentage of 27.5% raw material, technologic incapacity with a percentage of 24% and energy insufficiency with a percentage of 13%. These problems had been considered and some suggestions about solving these problems were made as follows; encouraging this compines, education to use modern technologic production techniques, cheap energy, education about marketing and advertisement.
