Abstract

Mirizzi syndrome is a rare cause of obstructive jaundice. Preoperative diagnosis is important owing to that its postoperative morbidity rate is higher than elective cholecystectomy. The diagnosis of the disease, however, is difficult since it depends on the suspicion of Mirizzi Syndrome. The patient was diagnosed as subacute cholecystitis in 28th week of pregnancy. Interval (elective) cholecystectomy was planned after the delivery and during the operation Mirizzi Syndrome Csendes type 1 is diagnosed. In this case report, diagnosis and treatment for Mirizzi Syndrome is reviewed under the current literature.
