Özet

The tradition of oral poetry has coexisted with music and musical instruments. Musical instruments have a special place in the life of the Turkish people. Musical instruments are an indication of the understanding of aesthetics, life-style, national identity and culture of a nation. Examples of the first simple musical instruments emerged through imitative reflections of nature as well as human and animal sounds. From past to present, music has undergone changes as a result of culture, understanding of aesthetic, and other needs. The musical instruments of each nation have their own unique features that contribute to the national identity. In this article, we will deal with the origin of Kazakh musical instruments and the mythical narratives told about them.
