Özet

The lands conquered by Ottoman Empire in the Europe are known as Rumeli or Balkans. After the conquests, Rumeli becomes an important culture and art center. Bosnia, Skopje, Prizren, Pristina, Vardar, Belgrade, Thessaloniki are important cities in Rumelia. Many Divan poets lived in this area. Many of the poets' birth places that are mentioned in the biography (tezkire) are Rumelia. The Rumelian poets play an important role in Classical Turkish Literature. The Rumelian poets, we call them Rumelia or Balkans, they born in Rumelia region, (Âşik Çelebi, Hayâlî Bey, Hayretî, Mesîhî, Mezâkî, Sâbit, Usûlî, Vasfî, Ziyâî), mention the Rumelia geography and culture widely in their poems. They talk about the region like countries, cities, towns and rivers in Rumelia in their poems. When the poems of Rumelian poets are examined, in some of their couplets it is seen that they used the expressions such as "Rum abdali/abdal of Rum" or "Rumelian abdal". In addition, they use "abdal" without subordinating it with "Rum" or "Rumeli". These expressions are seen much more in dervish-natured Hayreti's poem who is one of the Rumelian poets. In this study, "Rumeli abdali/ Rumelian abdal", which is placed in the Rumelian poets' poems is illustrated. With the help of these illustrations, the attention is drawn to their emphasis on "Rumeli abdali/ Rumelian abdal".
